Longitudinal opening/closing mechanism for window or air vent

The mechanism consists of a housing (2), containing a threaded shaft (8), driven by an electric motor unit (4), which functions to provide the action needed to open or close a vent or window. One or two powerful compression springs (5) oppose the movement. The mechanism is locked into position by a latching pin (14) which may be disengaged causing the mechanism to quickly return to it's previous condition.
