The outer joint section (1) has a jacket which has a mainly cylindrical outer circumference. The slideways consist of prefabricated formed and finished inserts (4), which are fastened to the inner wall of the jacket. Open apertures (3) are located in the radially outer parts of the inserts, and extend over the complete axial length of the jacket. The apertures have at least one partly cylindrical section. Each insert has two apertures, and there is a radially inward facing web between them. The inserts are fastened to the jacket by welding.
