PURPOSE:To efficiently absorb pollutant which dissolves in underground water and causes contamination of soil so as to prevent diffusion of the pollutant into the soil and easily remove pollutant from polluted soil by incorporating at least an org. matter-modified clay and an improving agent for water permeability. CONSTITUTION:The adsorbent for pollutant contains at least an org. matter- modified clay and an improving agent for water permeability. The org. matter- modified clay is obtd. by the reaction of clay mineral with cationic org. compd. such as amide compd. and amine compd. or with anionic org. compd. such as carboxylic acid, or by the reaction of clay mineral with amphoteric org. compd. having both of cation and anion. As for the improving agent for water permeability, such a material is preferably used that consists of a hydrophilic material and can form spaces of >=6mum size through which water can pass when the material is mixed with an org. matter-modified clay, or that has water permeability itself. For example, particles or fibers of inorg. minerals, ceramics, metals, natural polymers and synthesized polymers are used. |
