<p>PURPOSE: To provide a thermoelectron emitter which has a prolonged life and of which the size precision is kept within a narrow range during operation, especially at the time when the temperature is changed. CONSTITUTION: This controllable thermoelectron emitter for a vacuum tube comprises a thermoelectron emitting layer 3 and a controlling layer 5 separated from the thermoelectron emitting layer by an insulating layer 4 and the insulating layer and the controlling layer are formed by deposition process. All of the functional elements, especially controlling layers 5, 7, the thermoelectron emitting layer 3, and insulating layers 4, 6 for separation, of the controllable thermoelectron emitter are successively deposited on a substrate 1 and these layers are firmly attached to the neighboring layers one another through solid boundary layers.</p> |
