The length adjustment strap (26) for the shoulder straps is fixed on a connector part (24) which has at each of its two spaced ends a fixing device for the shoulder straps (22). The two ends (42) overlap one another spaced from each other and the two fixing slots (44) are set one behind the other. Each fixing slot is spaced from the end edge of the end (42) of the connector part so that the two slots intersect forming two acute and two obtuse angles. The end of the shoulder strap associated with each slot can be inserted in the slot and the end of the strap passing through it has a loop for enclosing the area of the connector between end edge and slot.
