PURPOSE:To prevent a pressure from becoming excessively high even when a remaining quantity of ink is large and utilize the remaining ink effectively even when the remaining quantity of ink is small by impressing a proper initial pressure to an ink bag at the start of printing. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet cartridge comprises an ink bag 30 for storing a recording ink, a head chip 55 for discharging the ink to be fed from the ink bag 30 in accordance with recording content, a head case 10 for housing the ink bag 30 and a head FPC 56, and an ink feed case 50. At the side part of the ink bag 30, a thick area 33 to be pressed by a pressing bar 63 is provided. In a box body at a lower part, a through hole for pressing the thick area 33 to one end side of the ink bag by the pressing bar 63 is provided. Further, around the thick area 33 or around the through hole, a guide for guiding the tip of the pressing bar 63 to the thick area 33 is provided. |
