PURPOSE:To make the degree of freedom for tuning at the side of a low damping force characteristic improvable in particular and also manufacturing cost reducible. CONSTITUTION:In this shock absorber, a sub-body 4 is assembled at the under surface of a piston body 3 on the circumference of a piston rod 1, and an interconnecting passage II for interconnecting an interval between an upper chamber A and a lower chamber B by way of a bypass passage I formed in the piston rod 1, and a check plate 9 producing a low damping force by way of restrictively allowing a fluid flow toward the upper chamber A from the lower chamber B of the interconnecting passage II, respectively. Likewise, a disk plate 10, producing the low damping force by way of restrictively allowing the fluid flow toward the lower chamber B from the upper chamber A of the interconnecting passage II is installed there, while an adjuster 14, having a variable throttle R capable of varying a passage section area of the bypass passage I, is installed in the point midway in the bypass passage I. |
