The workbench has supports (2) and a supporting beam (1), and at least one screw clamp (4). The clamp has a retainer arm, which is free at one end, and a clamping arm, which is fastened at the other end. The free end of the retainer arm can slide and tilt in a retainer arm guide (5') in the supporting beam. Several retainer arm guides may be combined to form an arm rail. At least one of the arm guides has a strengthening element (6). The rail is formed from a flat iron bar with distance pieces.
