Detachable temperature measuring appts. for cooking vessel

The appts. includes an opening (13) whose diameter is greater than the outer dimensions of the knob (12) of a cooking vessel lid (2) such that when laid on the lid, the knob is enclosed. Mechanical and/or magnetic elements (11,12) provide a detachable contact with the vessel so that it can be detachably connected to the knob of a cooking vessel, and has a temperature-measuring component (3). The contact parts are in the form of strips or pins (6), and fit the shape of the contact area of the vessel. The temperature measuring element may be coupled to an optical and/or acoustic signal generator, or a transmitter to control the heating of the vessel. The temperature-measuring device may be in the form of a gas or liquid-filled capsule which is in two parts, one of which is fixed to the device whilst the other can move under the influence of temperature.
