PURPOSE:To obtain the stabilized starting characteristic and a high luminous flux maintenance factor by arranging a light emitting body, in which a specified metal is sealed, in a transparent outer tube, and supplying the high frequency power to an induction coil wound around the periphery of the outer tube for lighting. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting body 2 of an electrodeless disc lamp 1, in which xenon gas and at least one kind of metal of sodium metal and thallium metal are sealed, is fixed inside of an outer tube 9 by a supporting bar 6 through supports 8. An induction coil 11 is wound around the periphery of the outer tube 9, and both ends of the coil 11 are connected to a high frequency power source 12. High frequency current is supplied to the coil 11 to lighten the lamp 1. A device having the stabilized starting characteristic through a long term lighting and a high luminous flux maintenance factor is thereby obtained. |
