PURPOSE:To guarantee a stable operation for a long period by adding acid to a heat storage material and hence reducing formation of an oxide film on a surface of a metal anode in a heat storage apparatus in which a pair of supercooled fracture electrodes made at least at the anode of metal are provided in the material made of a sodium acetate trihydrate. CONSTITUTION:A heat storage apparatus 1 contains a heat storage material 3 made of sodium acetate trihydrate (CH3COONa.3H2O) in vessel 2. A pair of electrode (anode) 4 and electrode (cathode) 5 are dipped in the material 3, and connected to a DC power source 6. When high temperature medium flows to a medium passage in contact with the material 3, the material 3 is melted by its heat, and latent heat is stored by this transformation. In such a heat storage apparatus 1, acid is added into the material 3, and water of about 5-10% to number of moles of the acid is added. Thus, formation of an oxide surface on the surface of the electrode 4 is suppressed, and a supercooling state of the material 3 is stabilized. |
