PURPOSE:To stably secure an electrifying member having a medium resistance, and excellent formability and productivity, which generates no electrification noise by forming at least a layer containing a foamed material in resin layers and using a conductive polyurethane resin produced by polymerizing conductive monomers for the surface of polyether polyurethane resin in a vapor phase to constitute the foamed material. CONSTITUTION:The contact electrifying member 2 disposed on the surface of a photoreceptor body 1 consists of a core metal 2c as a conductive supporting body, an urethane foamed-material layer 2b on the supporting body and a surface layer 2a on the layer 2b. The photosensitive body 1 is charged by applying voltage on the metal core 2c through the foamed material layer 2b. The foamed material incorporated into the electrifying member is obtained by using a polyurethane resin obtd. by polymerizing conductive monomers for the surface of a polyether polyurethane resin. In the conductive polyurethane resin, resistance of the resin itself is rather high and the control of resistance largely depends on the conductive monomers. Therefore, the obtd. member has little moisture absorption and excellent environmental stability. |
