Fluid coupling esp. for marine applications

The fluid coupling has a sealed housing (2) with two communicating chambers, a work chamber (21) and a delay chamber (23), and at least a further chamber or reservoir (22) which communicates with the two said chambers (21,23) so that when the motor or engine is started up the fluid contained in the delay chamber (23) is supplied with a delay. The fluid is moved with a further delay into the work chamber (21) which contains the rotors (15,17). The reservoir chamber (22) can have a tube (50) with inner pipe (51) and at least one end (52) which is curved against the rotary direction of the coupling (1). The pipe is open at this end and the tube (50) sits rigidly on the driven shaft (10) which has a groove (54) into which the inner pipe (51) opens. The groove connects with the delay chamber (23).
