PURPOSE:To provide an optical waveguide module which does not manifest influence of temp. on the performance of an optical circuit by providing this module with reinforcing members covering a substrate by averting the upper part of the optical circuit. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower blocks 3, 4 of rectangular 2 parallelepipeds held across an optical fiber 2 are joined to both ends of the substrate 5 of the rectangular parallelepiped having the same height as the height of the lower block 4. The upper part of the substrate 5 is covered with the reinforcing members 6 exclusive of part in the middle of both ends and the entire part of the optical waveguide module 1 is constituted as the rectangular parallelepiped having a recessed part. Optical waveguides 7 are formed on the surface of the substrate 5 from the optical fiber 2 at one end toward the optical fiber 2 at the other end. Two pieces of the optical waveguides 7 are formed and the optical circuit 8 having functions of optical branching, optical multiplexing and demultiplexing and wavelength separating, is formed by the arrangement to draw around the optical waveguides 7 on the substrate 5. The upper part of this optical circuit 8 is not covered with the reinforcing members 6 and corresponds to the recessed part. Then, the optical circuit 8 does not receive the influence of the temp. fluctuation. |
