PURPOSE:To accurately detect a defocusing amount of an optional subject in a short period even when plural subjects mixed with different photographing distances exist in a focus detection area. CONSTITUTION:Although the defocusing amount is operated generally based on an electric signal string at every blocks 1-5 divided beforehand, when any block (e.g. block 3) is a perspective competition block in which plural subjects with different photographing distances coexist, new blocks 3', 3'' incorporating a part of the perspective competition block 3 are set, and the defocusing amount is operated based on the electric signal string corresponding to the newly set blocks 3', 3''. |
