PURPOSE:To suppress damages of the durability of friction material of a lock-up clutch, the working fluid in a torque converter, parts made of resin, or the like attributable to the slip control of the deceleration. CONSTITUTION:When a judgement is made that the fuel cut operation of a fuel cut device 198 is possible by a fuel cut possibility judging means 200 even when a lock-up clutch 32 is not engaged, the starting of the slip control by a slip control means 196 is prevented irrespective of the deceleration of a vehicle by a lip control starting preventing means 202. This constitution eliminates the deterioration of a friction material, the working fluid in a torque converter, the parts made of resin, or the like attributable to the heat generation associated with the unnecessary slip engagement of the lock-up clutch 32 especially during the traveling at a high speed, and the durability of these items is not damaged. |
