PURPOSE: To obtain a thin fleece material having absorption characteristics suitable for producing diapers or sanitary articles by adhesively fixing superabsorbent material particles to the fleece material. CONSTITUTION: This thin fleece material is obtained by impregnating a thin fleece comprising viscose fibers with an aqueous dispersion of a binder for the fleece such as an ethyl acrylate-acrylamidoglycolic acid copolymer, applying superabsorbent material particles such as polyacrylic acid to the fleece in a wet state, subsequently absorbing and removing excessive water, then drying the resultant fleece and adhesively fixing the superabsorbent material particles to the surface thereof.
