PURPOSE:To industrially and advantageously produce the wide thermoplastic monodirectional prepreg sheet high in the impregnation of a resin and free from the disorder of fibers at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:The method for producing the thermoplastic monodirectional prepreg sheet comprises impregnating the tows of continuous reinforcing fibers with a thermoplastic resin, simultaneously uniformly arranging a plurality of the tape-like tow prepregs in the lateral direction, pressing the arranged tow prepregs with a cooling roll in a state heated at a temperature of Tm to Tm+60 deg.C (Tm is the melt-beginning temperature of the thermoplastic resin) into a sheet-like shape, and subsequently cooling the sheet-like product at a temperature ( deg.C) of Tc-50 deg.C to Tc (Tc is the solidification-beginning temperature of the thermoplastic resin). |
