PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of the linearity test of a pipette needle by guiding the tip part of the pipette needle to a position having a specified distance from the top edge of a reference body, and detecting the electric capacitance between the tip part of the pipette needle and the reference body. CONSTITUTION: A transporting device of an analyzing device is finely regulated to determine the coordinate of the standard position of a pipette needle 42 in at least one of X-direction and Y-direction. The pipette needle 42 is moved to positions 72, 73 and 74, 75 close to two outer surfaces 76, 77 and 78, 79 of a reference body 45 arranged vertically to the transporting direction, respectively. In these positions 72, 73 and 74, 15, the electric capacitance value between the pipette needle 42 and the reference body 45 measured by an electric capacitance measuring circuit in each case reaches a prescribed value corresponding to the distance (d) between the pipette needle 42 and the surface of the reference body 45. |
