PURPOSE:To dispense with an operation to delete unrequired data after trimming by automatically changing the size of image data corresponding to the shape of trimming. CONSTITUTION:One image to which trimming processing by using a cursor in all directions is desired to apply, is selected from eight images photographed by a CCD camera 10 and fetched in image memory 18. Edit processing is carried out to the image. In this way, an image processing part 22 is operated, and after the start and end points of the image to be segmented have been designated, the trimming of the image data in closed rectangular or open curved fashion is performed. The image processing part 22 displays such image data. In other words, areas other than the areas designated as the start and end points are cleared. Then, the size of the area is changed into a longitudinal and lateral size to be decided by the start and end points. When the trimming processing is completed, a control part 16 updates this image data by storing the image data in the image memory 18. In this way, the image data can automatically be updated to have an appropriate size. |
