METHOD OF SURFACE-TREATING PROPYLENE POLYMER MOLDING

PURPOSE:To provide a method for surface-treating a propylene polymer molding whereby the adhesion of a coating material (e.g. urethane coating material) to a propylene polymer molding can be improved by a markedly simplified treatment step. CONSTITUTION:This method is one of surface-treating a propylene molding before coating it, which method comprises bringing the molding into contact with an oxygenous gas heated to a temperature of the melting point of the polymer to at most 500 deg.C so that the difference between the number of the oxygen atoms on the surface of the molding after the contact and that on the surface of the molding before the contact may lie in 5/100 or above in terms of an atomic ratio O/C as determined by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
