摘要 Process is used for the thermal regeneration of a soot filter, which is loaded with soot by diesel motor exhaust fumes and is regenerated by a flow of hot oxidising gas. The soot loaded regions have a stretch in the main flow direction. A regeneration device working in the side stream delivers an oxidising gas or variable temp. The oxidising gas temp. at the soot filter inlet is so set that the soot oxidation upon flow through the soot loaded regions of the filter (2) only has a low intensity, and only in the end region of the region currently still contg. soot is a significant reaction rate achieved by summation of the heat of reaction released during the flow. Also claimed is a device to carry out the above process having a regeneration appts. (1) for changeable filters (2), and a regeneration device (3) to deliver the oxidising gas.
