PURPOSE: To allow an electric motor vehicle to self-travel within the given time in the case of braking a motor for the purpose of overheat protection and over discharge protection. CONSTITUTION: A motor control device 10 is provided with a power supply switch 12, a temperature sensor 18 for measuring the temperature TD of the driving circuit 16 of a motor 14, a remaining battery capacity measuring means 24 for measuring the remaining capacity WB of the electric power of a battery 20 and a microcomputer 26 for measuring time (t) from the closing of the power supply switch 12 and at the sane time controlling the driving circuit 16. The microcomputer 26 controls the driving circuit 16 so as to be able to drive the motor 14 when the temperature TD is a reference value TMAX or higher or when the time (t) is within the given time tON in the case that remaining capacity WB becomes the minimum reference value WMIN capable of travelling. Otherwise, the driving circuit 16 is controlled so as to brake the motor 14. |
