PURPOSE: To easily produce the subject particles having high flowability, bulk density, remeltability and solubility, handleability, transportability, etc., and useful for lens, etc., on an industrial scale by contacting a polycarbonate solution with hot gas while keeping the solution in the form of filaments and cutting the product. CONSTITUTION: The objective particles can be produced by contacting (A) a methylene chloride solution of a polycarbonate resin with (B) a hot gas such as steam while keeping the solution in a filament form and cutting the product. For example, a methylene chloride solution having a polycarbonate resin concentration of 5.0-50wt.% is prepared at 30-100 deg.C and extruded through a spinneret having an average nozzle diameter of 0.5-5mm in the form of continuous filaments into steam as the hot gas atmosphere while keeping the filament form. The filament is brought into contact with the gas for 1-15min and the solidified filaments are cut with a rotary cutter having metal blades, a pressurized water cutter, etc., to obtain the objective particles. |
