The drive gas used in the pressure container (1) is carbon dioxide or carbonic acid and all the parts are enclosed in an angled casing (6) of plate or plastic, which with the nozzle (5) is terminated with adjustable spreaders (7,8). The whole arrangement can be mounted on a wall (9), e.g. above a door (10), so that the nozzle is directed out through the wall other side. When a detector reacts to an occurrence affecting the room or object to be protected, the valve (2) is activated by its impulse. Drive gas passes through the tube (3) into the container (4), where it presses out calcium powder through the nozzle. The powder is formed into a cloud by the gas pressure and it irritates an intruder, preventing him from orientating himself. The powder is also difficult to remove completely from clothing, making the intruder easily identifiable. |
