Safety device, particularly for children, in a container for collecting waste

The catch consists of a rod (4) which is fitted to the lid (2) of the bin (1), and a knob (5) which is offset from the top of the rod and enables it to be turned after applying a force to it. The tip of the rod is notched (10) and engages with a catch plate (12) inside the bin, locking automatically as the lid is closed and opening when the rod is rotated. The catch is released by applying two different movements to the knob at the same time - an action which is difficult for children.
