PURPOSE: To permit the manufacture of fine cell structure easily by a method wherein a plurality of layers of ceramics material sheets, each comprising a sheet type substrate printed with a slurry based on a ceramic material, are superposed to define cells by the combination of the ceramic material sheets superposed on the printed pattern. CONSTITUTION: For manufacturing the honeycomb structural body 9 of ceramic, a thick printing of slurry 2, having a thickness of 5μm-2mm, is applied on a sheet 1 at first to obtain a ceramics material sheet 3, into and/or onto which ceramics material is laminated and/or impregnated. Next, a screen 4, having a predetermined pattern, is put on the sheet 1 and the slurry 2 is applied to flow on the surface of the screen 4, then, a predetermined pattern, padded thick with the slurry 2, is printed in a stage 8 to form a pattern sheet 5. Subsequently, the ceramic material sheet 3 and the pattern sheet 5 are piled up to form the honeycomb structural body 9 of ceramic, with open cells 10 whose upper surface is constituted of the ceramics material sheet 3 and whose lower surface is constituted of the specific surface of non-printing part 7.
