A functional disc and joint protection belt comprising a rear portion curved according to size, two straps 4-8 cm wide that are straight for men and curved for women, an abdominal support guard protecting the buckle, and a pull tab, the length of said belt varying with each size. The curved rear portion fits the male or female pelvis. The belt axis is at the L5-S1 level for men and at the L4-L5 level for women. The man's belt leaves the iliac crests exposed and covers lumbar vertebrae L4-S3 while the woman's covers L4-S2.
