The invention starts from a vehicle immobilisation system (34) in which a reversing valve (20, 20') for each braking circuit maintains a pressure accumulated in the wheel brake cylinders (16, 16') when a brake pedal (14) is actuated. Its disadvantage is that the pressure may fall because of small leaks or cooling down of the braking fluid, so that the vehicle may again be moved. To avoid this disadvantage, when an illicit use of the vehicle is recognised, pressure is increased in the wheel brake cylinder (16, 16') by means of a hydropump (30, 30') for each braking circuit.
