摘要

Prodn. of hydroxybenzyl alkyl ethers (I) comprises passing a mixt. of a hydroxybenzyl alcohol (II), an alcohol (III) and opt. an inert diluent continuously through a reactor contg. a fixed bed of an ion exchanger. Pref. (III) is an ethylene glycol monoalkylether, esp. the isopropyl ether (IIIa).
