PURPOSE: To provide an automatic vending machine capable of abolishing article sales buttons provided for respective articles, simplifying an attaching operation, reducing an attaching space and reducing the number of using parts by changing the display contents of a display means accompanying the operation of an article selection means and selecting the article. CONSTITUTION: When an article selection dial 16 is rotated, a movable plate is rotated integrally with the article selection dial 16, one of the movable contact points of the rotary plate is brought into contact with a fixed contact point corresponding to the rotation position of the article selection dial 16 and an article selection switch is selectively turned on. By this constitution, a purchaser selectively turns on an article switch by rotating the article dial 16, changes the display of a display device so as to let a desired article number A-Z be displayed at an article number display part 7f and selects the article. Then, the purchaser decides the purchase of the article selected by the article selection dial 16 by pushing the article selection dial 16 and turning on a push switch.
