PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming color negative image, of which color correcting contrast, granularity and acutance characteristic are improved. SOLUTION: In this method for forming color negative image, photographic material containing a compound, which can discharge the development restricting agent at the time of using (i) a support coated with at least one layer of silver halide-radiationsensitive emulsion layer containing silver bromide or silver chloride, (ii) color element image forming coupler and (iii) primary amino color- developing agent, for development. This method is performed in the existence of dicarboxylic acid linear polyester, and the polyester includes in-molecular linear thioether atom.
