PURPOSE: To enhance the piezoelectric effect, to delay the velocity of sound propagated in a material and to a make the piezoelectric transformer small in size by using a piezoelectric body composed of porous material in which a large number of hoses are formed. CONSTITUTION: A porous material in which lots of holes are formed is used for a piezoelectric body 1. The material is formed by blending powder of lead zirconate titanate whose mean particle diameter is 1.2μm and methacryl powder whose means particle diameter is 30μm at a proper ratio. The ratio of holes shared in the entire volume of the porous material to be manufactured is decided depending on the blending ratio and the piezoelectric effect and the velocity of the sound through which the material is propagated are decided. Then forming and baking are conducted and an electric field of nearly 1kV/mm is applied to the material to obtain the piezoelectric of the porous material through polarization. The transformer is made small by using the piezoelectric body made of the porous material with lots of holes formed therein and the velocity of sound propagated in the material is delayed to make the performance of the transformer high.
