PURPOSE: To suppress the number of polygons to the minimum and to generate a precise curved surface model by dividing the neighborhood of a boundary line which forms the external shape of a curved surface into pieces and parts other than that roughly when the curved surface is approximated by dividing into a set of plane polygons (polygon). CONSTITUTION: This generator comprises a shape generating means 11 which generates a curved surface shape model with a small number of polygons, a coordinate transforming means 12 which transforms the set of polygons to two-dimensional screen coordinates as if it is observed from a viewpoint set in advance, an edge detecting means 13 which detects a side(edge) which forms the external shape of the curved surface from the set of polygons, an edge dividing means 14 which generates an apex at the intermediate part of the edge, and a polygon dividing means 15 which divides the polygon including the edge. |
