The method concerns production of a heat exchanger consisting of an outer shell (2) and a coaxial light-metal inner shell (1) with ribbing on both sides. The annular space between the outer and inner shells and the annular space between the inner shell and a flame tube (7) serve as conduits respectively for liquid and gaseous heat-carrying media. The method is characterised by the fact that at least the inner shell (1) is produced by a lost-pattern casting process.
