Replay circuit for optical disk recording and replay equipment

An equalisation circuit (15) equalises a signal read from the optical disk. A binary coding circuit (17) converts the output signal from the equalisation circuit into a sequence of binary pulses. A PLL circuit (18) outputs a clock signal which is synchronised in phase with the sequence of binary pulses. An A/D converter (16) digitises the output signal of the equalisation circuit using the clock signal. A Viterbi decoder (19) decodes the output signal from the A/D converter with maximum probability.
