Prodn. of aq. concentrates of fatty alcohol ether sulphate alkaline earth salts comprises: (a) continuously sulphating fatty alcohol alkoxylates; (b) continuously feeding the crude sulphation prod. into a neutralisation circuit that initially contains a charge of conc. aq. fatty alcohol ether sulphate Na salt slurry; (c) neutralising the resulting premix with an aq. alkaline earth hydroxide/alkanolamine dispersion; and (d) retuning the resulting neutralised conc. alkaline earth salt slurry to the neutralisation circuit until the end prod. is practically free from Na salt.
