Watertight nosing for steps in areas of heavy use on buses and other passenger vehicles

The nosing forms a bracket (1) covering the edge (6) of a step (4). It has a shaped moulding (2) which is fixed against the edge of a coating (3) on the step. The free end (13) of the horizontal section (5) of the bracket clips into the moulding. The moulding (2) is made of a material which can be soldered against the edge of the covering (3) or it may be plastic. In cross section the moulding has a shoulder (12) pointing towards the bracket (1). The free end of the bracket (13) has a rib (14) running lengthwise which fits into a groove in the shoulder (12). The free end of a vertical section (7) of the bracket (1) covers a coating (10) forming a riser. The horizontal section has adhesive strips (15) to attach the bracket to the step.
