The holder has a device (8a) with arms (10) for tensioning at least three clamping levers which extend from a central tube (5), in order to fix a drum in a position and orientation which is suitable for playing. The arms are each connected to a lever, and to a slide (9). The device has one or more tensioning or eccentric levers (25) which pivot about a ring-shaped bearing (28), and a pressure piece (24) for the slide which acts against an eccentric surface (26). The lever is mfd. from a length of steel wire by bending, and pref. has pivot bearings for spigot sections (27) on the ring-shaped bearing. A second piece of tubing (29) may be arranged on the central tube, and may also be tensioned axially by a threaded bolt or adjusting screw (35).
