The conservatory construction comprises a prefabricated part (1) which both forms the main ridge and acts as a seal against the building wall (20). The prefabricated part also accommodates the external shading system (5,50,52) and the ventilation devices (4). The ridge section has a cable channel (34) which extends parallel to the ridge. A jointed connection (21,32) is fitted between the two elements (2,3) which make up the prefabricated part.
