A device for the releasable connection of cylindrical components (17,18) comprises a clamping band (14), on whose inner sides there are arranged cramp elements (23), which interact with flange-type attachments (21,22) of the components (17,18), and is provided with at least one clamping element. In the latter, the regions of the clamping band (12,13) are secured on the ends of a two-armed lever which is pivotably mounted and to which a rotary-drive device (2) is assigned. By means of the latter, the clamping element can rotate through approximately 180 degrees, with the result that the end regions of the clamping band (12,13) can be brought to a position in which they are above one another, and the clamping band (14) in the closed position is shortened approximately by the length of the two lever arms.
