PURPOSE: To reduce processing time and to remove noise by picture-processing by properly using a median filter and an averaging filter corresponding to the kind of a picture element. CONSTITUTION: A pickup picture is inputted from an input terminal 11 through a digital picture input device 12 and stored in an input picture memory 13. Next an average calculation means 14 obtains an arithmetic average through the use of gray level data in the input picture memory 13, and a destribution value calculation means 15 obtains an arithmetic average and the distribution value D with a noticing picture and a nearby picture in the input picture memory 13 and stores them in respectively separated memories. Next, a digital value comparing means 16 compared the large or small of the distribution value D and a previously set threshold value T. At the time of the distribution value D <= the threshold value T, the average calculated by the average calculation means 14 is kept as it is, but at the time of the distribution value > the threshold value T, a median filter method calculation means 17 calculates noise as it is included to respectively store in an output picture memory 18. After storing in the output picture memory 18 is finished, digital picture information is outputted and displayed through a digital picture information output device 19. |
