Electronic safety interlock for motor vehicle occupant seat belts

The electronic circuit of the safety interlock has an output stage (32a,32b,32c) which includes an ignition system (10,11). This is combined with a seat belt with clip type fastener and switch (13) which monitors the operational status of the seat belt. The switch is connected in parallel with the ignition system. The switch can have a normally closed contact with a low current rating and a resistance connected in parallel with it.
