PURPOSE: To use a fixed exciting winding conducting circuit also as a charging circuit and to eliminate an external charger by connecting the one DC output of a rectifier connected to a commercial power source to the fixed exciting winding via a changeover switch, and connecting the other to the DC power source connecting end of a four-quadrant chopper circuit. CONSTITUTION: A changeover switch 10 is connected by branching from a line for connecting the mid-point of the arm of a four-quadrant chopper circuit 4 to a fixed exciting winding 3a, a single-phase rectifier 11 is connected from the switch 10 to the one side of each arm of the circuit 4, and an external commercial power source 12 is connected to the rectifier 11. At the time of charging, the switch 10 is closed, and the power source 12 is applied to the winding 3a and the circuit 4 via the rectifier 11. That is, since the battery 1 is charged by the energy stored in the winding 3a via the diode, it is not necessary to newly install an on-vehicle charger. |
