摘要 PURPOSE: To prevent a failure that a photograph different from a predicted one is taken by controlling the transparency of each unit region of a variable transparency plate, based on the depth of field information of an object of nonselection range-finding information. CONSTITUTION: An AF unit 9 executes the sequential range-finding of the range- finding region which is divided into nine AF divided zones for instance and corresponds to the photographing range of a photographic optical system in the order of each AF divided zone. Then, the glass surface of an instantaneous light control glass 21 corresponds to a visual field range in a finder and the visual field range is divided into nine visual field divided zones in accordance with the AF divided zones of the AF unit 9. The instantaneous light control glass 21 sets and applies a driving voltage based on the range-finding information obtained by the AF unit 9 incorporated in a camera and controls the diffused light quantity of each visual field divided zone, to arbitrarily vary its transparency. In other words, the transparency of each unit region of the variable transparency plate is controlled by drive, based on the depth of field information of the object of the nonselection range-finding information.
