<p>PURPOSE: To improve the operability at the time of selecting a recording paper supplying port by providing a means for recognizing the attaching condition of a recording paper feeding unit and a means for selecting the paper supplying port of a recording means from among the plural ports in accordance with the recognized attaching condition. CONSTITUTION: An envelope feeder controlling part 109 controls operation for supplying paper from an envelope feeder and detects whether the envelope feeder is attached or not based on instruction from an engine controlling part 102. An option cassette controlling part 110 controls the operation for feeding the paper from an option cassette and detects whether the option cassette is attached or not based on the instruction from the part 102. When the attachment of such an option paper feeding unit as the envelope feeder or the option cassette is detected by the parts 109 and 110, a paper supplying port switching controlling part 111 sets respective paper supplying ports to the paper supplying port of a printer engine in accordance with the order of priority.</p> |
