PURPOSE: To make durability, fixability, paper-passing property, etc., excellent and to enhance reliability by providing a heat-resistant sheet made of glass fiber as a base material between a fixing roller and a pressure member and carrying a recording material through the gap between the fixing roller and the heat-resistant sheet. CONSTITUTION: A paper sheet 1 is carried to a fixing device 50 and receives an adequate temperature and pressing force from the pressure member 51 and the fixing roller 52 whose temperature is kept at 14 deg.C. Then, toner 2 is melted and fixed on the paper 1 to obtain a solid image. At this time, the heat-resistant sheet 54 fixed on a lower frame 53 with a heat-resistant double-coated tape is inserted between the pressure member 51 and the fixing roller 52. The heat- resistant sheet 54 is obtained in such a manner that the base material of the glass fiber is coated or impregnated with a synthetic resin material excellent in releasability and heat resistance such as fluororesin. Thus, the durability is improved without deforming the pressure member 51 and stable paper passing can be attained. |
