<p>A method for separating polyolefins from waste containing same, wherein said waste is selectively melted by contacting it with an intermediate heat transfer fluid and the resulting mixture is vacuum distilled to remove the polyolefins, is disclosed. A plant comprising a melter (1), means (2, 3) for feeding the waste into the melter (1), a source of heat transfer fluid (12), means (14) for delivering the heat transfer fluid from the source (12) to the melter (1), a distillation column (17) connected to the melter, and means (18, C3) for feeding the mixture of the molten polyolefins and the heat transfer fluid to said distillation column where the polyolefins are separated from said heat transfer fluid, is also disclosed.</p> |
