Fastening band for mutual connection of two upholstered parts

The fastening band is fixed by a web (40) on the first upholstered part for interaction with retaining elements on the second upholstered part. The band has parallel to the longitudinal direction of the web a fixing zone (42) and reinforcement zone (44). The reinforcement zone has substantially the same material composition as the remaining parts of the fastening band but is compacted into the reinforcement profile by heat and pressure. The fixing zone can be made of textile material and is formed as an area with lower warp or lower weft density. The reinforcement zone can be made by melting the textile material on one or both sides onto a support (50) connected to the web.
