DEVICE FOR DETECTING ABNORMAL STATE OF PANTOGRAPH

PURPOSE: To provide a device for determining an abnormal state which can surely and easily determine the existence of the abnormal state of a pantograph even at night and on a cloud day. CONSTITUTION: The image of discharge phenomena between the pantograph of a train and a stringing is picked up by a CCD camera 1. The picked-up respective original images are transmitted to an image buffer 8 and an image changeover switch 9 through an image distributor 7. An image processing device 11 processes the respective original images inside the image buffer one by one to obtain the range of the discharge phenomena and the brightness within the range. A computation control part 6 compares the range of the discharge phenomena and the brightness with respective predetermined thresholds to determine the abnormal state of the pantograph.
